Coaching, one of three
Leadership coaching
This is for someone who has recently been given a larger role, or is about to be. Growing into a role is not the same thing as surviving it. The substantive work happens between sessions, in their own team, in the situations that would otherwise be deferred until next week.

Why leaders find it useful
Someone who stepped up six months ago generally knows quite well what is not working, and has no one with whom to think it through. The colleagues they once confided in now report to them, and their own manager largely wants to hear that matters are under control. Coaching provides the one hour in which they need not be under control, together with accountability for whatever is decided next.
The practical part
I have learned how to deal with my fears when I have to face new challenges or lead a completely new project.

Questions people ask
How does this differ from executive coaching?
Mainly in the starting point. Here the subject is growing into a new role. Executive coaching starts from one specific decision, relationship or pattern at senior level.
Can an organization commission this for several people at once?
Yes, and it works particularly well as the individual thread running alongside a group program.
How many sessions are usually required?
Six is the minimum that produces anything durable. Most leaders take between six and twelve across four to six months.
One conversation is usually enough to tell
Where someone in your team has recently stepped up and is finding it harder than they say, half an hour will establish whether this would help.
